Franklin Ruben Braxton was a quiet man with a presence you never forgot. He didn’t say much, but when he did, his deep voice could catch you off guard—strong enough to make you pause—until you realized it belonged to one of the sweetest, most gentle people you would ever meet.
Frank was a devoted husband, father, and family man in every sense of the word. Married for 44 years to the love of his life, Vesta “Peaches” Braxton, he adored his wife deeply and showed his love through care, consistency, and quiet dedication. His family was his world, and he went above and beyond to provide, protect, and support them in ways both big and small.
He worked hard throughout his life, spending many years with Harold Bozman Seafood in Upper Hill, L & E Farms in Westover, and later with Somerset County Roads in Princess Anne. But it was who Frank was outside of work that people remember most—his kindness, his humility, and the way he made others feel comfortable just by being himself.
Frank had a soft spot for old station wagons. No matter how many times one broke down, somehow, he always found another one. Where he found those old cars is still a mystery, but they fit him perfectly reliable, unassuming, and full of character.
A man of faith, Frank attended St. James United Methodist Church in Westover from an early age and remained connected to the church community throughout his life. He enjoyed simple pleasures—watching television, laughing at game shows, and spending time with those he loved.
Franklin Ruben Braxton’s legacy is not found in loud moments or grand gestures, but in love given freely, loyalty shown daily, and the quiet way he cared for everyone around him.
